This unit is intended to provide an efficient means of stoppering pre-filled syringes in a pharmaceutical sterile cleanroom. The ASPU consists of two interconnected units -- the main vacuum chamber and the Control Box. The chamber is typically placed on a sterile laminar flow bench next to a filling machine. The Control Box, which is intended for wall-mounting inside the clean area, is connected to the main chamber by means of a connector hose. The connector hose supplies the Air, Nitrogen, and Vacuum necessary for the operation of the chamber unit.
IMPRO takes a simplistic approach on how to operate the system. Once the control box is supplied with the correct Air, Nitrogen, and Vacuum inputs, the selector switch on the front is turned to the "Start" position. The stoppering cycle will then automatically start once the chamber door is closed. The door is locked by vacuum until the stoppering process is completed. Another cycle is initiated by closing the chamber door.
This system can stopper the following quantities of pre-nested syringes based on the amounts of mL used:
- 0.5 mL = 100 syringes
- 1.0 mL, 2.25 mL and 3.0 mL = 100 syringes
- 5.0 mL = 64 syringes
- 10mL = 42 syringes
- 20 mL = 30 syringes
We also offer a 1.0 mL kit for a 160 count pre-nest, which is a 10×16 nest. Some 10×16 nest require a special stoppering nest designed by Impro Innovation Inc. for bulk stopper use.

The Autoclavable Stopper Placement Unit (ASPU) from IMPRO is designed to assemble pre-nested HYPAK® SCF® syringes and stoppers after the syringes have been processed through an independent filling machine operation.
The ASPU will evacuate a portion of the air in the chamber and replace that air with a Nitrogen overlay, thereby reducing the percentage of oxygen in the stoppered syringe. The Control Box supplied with this unit also has the ability to perform the Nitrogen “back flush” operation once or twice, depending on the oxygen sensitivity of the product being filled. With this feature, the oxygen content can be
The control box can be expanded to allow for quick changes in the final vacuum stoppering level . By controlling the final vacuum level via an external selector switch, the resulting head-space gap can be changed without making any adjustments inside the control box. Up to 6 final vacuum set points can be selected.
